Surviving the Dead
Actors: Simon Pegg, Kate Ashfield, Nick Frost, Lucy Davis, Dylan Moran, Nicola Cunningham.
This comedy, Shaun Of The Dead, starts out like this : Shaun sitting in a British pub, called the Winchester, sixth his girlfriend Liz trying to convince her that he can change and become a better person and stop being such a loser all of the time. Then the movie flashes six hours into the next day, and you see Shaun stumbling into the living room falls on the couch and starts playing video games with his unemployed friend, until his friend, Ed, reminds him about work. So Shaun gets ready for work and has a conversation with his other friend about kicking Ed out of the house. For the most part this is Shaun’s everyday routine. This is until everyone turns into a zombie except for Shaun and a few friends. This is Shaun’s time to redeem himself, will he grow up and save hassle and his friends or will he watch as his friends perish and die with them?
I liked this movie for several reasons. First I liked this movie because it has a lot of funny scenes. For example there is one scene in the movie where Shaun goes into his moms house and is about to kill Phalli, his step dad, until he says, “Sorry Phillip” and Phillip says, “Why what have you done this time?” and Shaun jumps back, freaks out and answers, “Nothing.” Secondly I liked this movie because it develops the characters very well and really shows what the characters are like. Last I liked this movie because it actually has funny parts, not like other comedies where they tell lame jokes and have irrelevant concepts to the movie.
I recommend this movie because it’s funny an it’s about Zombies that get bashed in the head by the main character. Also I recommend this movie because the characters make the movie plot develop in a way where it makes the movie easy to follow.
