Vocab Outsiders II

-Unceasingly
Not ceasing or stopping; continuous: an unceasing flow of criticism.
Sentence-The church unceasingly burned down until there was nothing left.
-Vagrant
Adjective- wandering or roaming from place to place; nomadic
Noun- a person who wanders about idly and has no permanent home or employment; vagabond; tramp
Sentence- Jonny was constantly vagrant because his parents didn’t care about him.
-Discrimination
Noun- An act or instance of discriminating.
Sentence- The greasers were discriminated against because they were lower class.
-Stereotype
Noun- a simplified and standardized conception or image invested with special meaning and held in common by members of a group: The cowboy and Indian are American stereotypes
Sentence- Because of people like two bit the stereotype that all greasers are hoods was formed.

-Elite
Noun- the choice or best of anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of persons
Sentence- Darry was the elite member of their family because he worked multiple jobs.
-Incredulous
Adjective- not credulous; disinclined or indisposed to believe; skeptical
Sentence- Cherry was not incredulous towards pony boy.
-Façade
Noun- The front of a building, esp. an imposing or decorative one.
Sentence- Pony boy was façade when it came to emotions.

-Ironic
Adjective- containing or exemplifying irony: an ironic novel; an ironic remark.
Sentence- ?
-Elude
Verb- to avoid or escape by speed, cleverness, trickery, etc.; evade: to elude capture.
Sentence- Dallas eluded the cops and made them think that pony boy was headed to Texas.
-Credible
Adjective- capable of being believed; believable: a credible statement
Sentence- Because pony boy never lied to his big brother he was credible.
-Premonition
Noun- a feeling of anticipation of or anxiety over a future event; presentiment: He had a vague premonition of danger.
Sentence- Pony boy had a good premonition about the rumble.
